The reassuring answer is that you do not chase your certificate from home, because you leave Seychelles already holding it. On the wedding day you sign the official register and the Government of Seychelles issues your marriage certificate, and we arrange the Supreme Court apostille that makes it valid abroad before you fly out. There is no waiting for it to arrive in the post weeks later, which is exactly how paperwork should feel.
What you leave with
You go home with the official marriage certificate and its apostille, the two documents that together prove your marriage anywhere in the world. For most countries that is the end of it, and you simply keep them safe as your record. We walk you through the whole chain before you travel and hand it all to you complete, so nothing is left hanging over the honeymoon or waiting at an office after you leave.

Getting extra copies later
Life asks for the certificate at odd moments, a name change, a visa, a mortgage, and you may want more than one certified copy. Additional certified copies are issued by the Civil Status office in Seychelles, and because we are here on the islands we can request further copies on your behalf after the wedding and send them to you. It is far easier to ask us than to navigate a government office from another country, so keep our thread and reach out whenever you need one.

If it is ever lost
A certificate is a record, not a one-off original you can never replace, so a lost certificate is a solvable problem rather than a disaster. The marriage stays on the Seychelles register permanently, and a replacement certified copy can be issued from that record. If it ever happens, message us and we will help you request a fresh certified copy from the Civil Status office rather than leaving you to sort it alone.
